Aris Lykogiannis is now officially Panioni’s new coach, confirming information that spoke of an agreement between the two teams.

The experienced technician will take the place of Pericles Tavropoulos and will have the task of leading the “Blue-Reds” in the Stoiximan Basket League.

The announcement in detail:

“KAE PANIONIOS announces agreement with coach Aris Lykogiannis.

The team’s new coach was born on April 10, 1969 and worked at Sporting from 2001 to 2006. This was followed by Pagrati (2006-2008) and Ikaros Kallitheas, with whom he won promotion to the A1 category in 2010.

In 2012 he left Ikaros and took over Solna (in Sweden), but soon returned to Ikaros, which had since “moved” to Chalkida.

In 2014 he agreed and took over the technical management of Kolossos Rhodes, where he stayed with Panathinaikos for two months until 2018 with an interim “stop”, where he joined Sotiris Manolopoulos’ coaching staff for the playoffs.

He then worked for Holargos in the team’s first appearance in the Basket League and led the team to the playoffs. He returned to Rhodes and Kolossos for a season in the summer of 2019 and signed with PAOK in December 2020, where he stayed until February 2023.

Aris Lykogiannis stated the following:

“I am very happy to be part of the PANIONIO family. Errikos Dunan’s Elite League championship and the team’s goals are a big challenge for me personally.”

I hope that everything goes well and that through our presence on the pitch and the way we approach each game we will live up to management expectations and satisfy the world’s hunger for success.”

KAE PANIONIOS welcomes Aris Lykogiannis to the team.”
