Miles Bridges returns to the slopes after sexist assault incident
Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges, who was suspended by the NBA for sexist assault and child abuse, has now been given the green light to return to the team’s active roster for violating a protective order. He is currently undergoing judicial proceedings on suspicion of trespassing, but is likely to return to action this Friday.
“Miles Bridges has completed his NBA suspension and will be eligible to return to our active roster on Friday. We understand the recent allegations, are pleased with Bridges’ return, and are satisfied that the lawsuit will be resolved. “We remain in contact with the NBA as the judicial process continues,” the Hornets reported Thursday.
Bridges, 25, did not play in a game last season and is currently serving a 10-game suspension ordered by the NBA for sexual assault and child abuse charges set in the summer of 2022. Forward was arrested on June 29th. In 2022, he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend, who was accompanied by her two children, in Los Angeles. He was later released on $130,000 bail. Last November, Bridges was sentenced to three years’ probation in an agreement with prosecutors.
“I know a lot of people feel something about my return, and I understand that. It’s going to take a while for him to get his confidence back. So, just a little bit outside. We’re going to go out there and play. If we win more, people will look at us differently,” Bridges said. “The Hornets know who I am. The NBA knows who I am.”
