Lithuania has named the coach of the national team for EuroBasket 2025 selection
39-year-old Giedrius Zibenas will be the head coach of the Lithuanian national team in the EuroBasket 2025 qualifying matches.
The new status will be officially introduced after the Lithuanian Basketball Federation’s meeting scheduled for December 11. Zibenas is currently the head coach of Vilnius club “Rytas”.
It was reported that Kazis Maksvytis will be appointed as the head coach of the Lithuanian team during the main tournament of the European Championship if the team passes the qualifications. He is currently the coach of Zalgiris club.
The Lithuanian national team will face the teams of Poland (February 23) and Estonia (February 26) in the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers.
As is known, EuroBasket 2025 will be held in four countries (Latvia, Cyprus, Finland and Poland).
