Maksvitis: “Olympiakos proposal changed things for Mitrou-Long”
Kazis Maksvitis was asked in the SEF press room about Naz Mitrou-Long and his marriage to Olympiakos and explained how the Red and White’s interest changed everything for the expatriate guard.
Naz Mitrou-Long saw his new team (Olympiakos) defeat his old one (Zalgiris) without being able to contribute. Given the presence of Kazis Maksvitis in the SEF press room, the Zalgiris coach was asked about the new Olympiakos regional player and his possible suitability for the red and whites.
“He would have stayed with us (Naz Mitrou-Long) if Olympiakos’ proposal hadn’t come. I think this attention from Olympiakos has changed his patience to stay in our team. He is a great professional, a hard worker, a good player and a good person. I’m sad that things didn’t work out with Naz, but he’s a good guy and I wish him all the best with his new team“he said characteristically about his player until five days ago.
