Filip Petrusev is released by the Sacramento Kings and signs with Olympiakos
The Sacramento Kings have released Filip Petrusev, according to Adrian Wojnarovski. Olympiakos is now waiting for the 23-year-old center after blowing its last chance to stay in the NBA within the next 48 hours.
Filip Petrusev’s (sic) adventure with the Sacramento Kings is expected to end quickly and prematurely. The “Kings” will give up the 23-year-old center (2.11 m), as Adrian Voinasofksi reports. The Serbian hasn’t played an active role in Mike Brown’s rotation since landing there via trade.
In some ways, the big young man’s attempt to establish himself in the NBA appears to be coming to an (unexpected) end, as the decision to return to Europe appears to have already been made. As everything shows, on behalf of Olympiakos, which for several days has been expressing in every possible way its interest in the direction of the 23-year-old striker/midfielder.
What’s up? Let 48 hours pass in which any NBA team can sign him to the same contract he had with the Sacramento Kings. Which doesn’t seem to have a chance, as Filip Petrusev’s stock isn’t particularly high in the NBA.
However, in the first phase, his release paves the way for a return to the EuroLeague, where Olympiakos is waiting for him to complete its squad.
