As time passes, LeBron James continues to be a mainstay in the world’s best league. The Lakers’ eternal leader became the first and only player to reach 39,000 points during a win against the Utah Jazz, even though the party wasn’t perfect.
As the Lakers themselves have announced, Darvin Ham did not hand him the game ball, which is a tradition beyond what is established in the NBA when someone breaks a record or sets a milestone. The reason was very simple. He saved it for when he reached 40,000 hits. .
Considering the Lakers have played 16 games this season, it seems very likely that LeBron will reach the impressive figure of 40,000 points during the same campaign…and all for the added compensation. It seems to indicate that you have one more in your collection in the form of a ball.
