Superior Prometheus, defeated AEK who fought from -25 but failed to hold on in Patras
Hunter Hale laid the foundation and Cowan – Coffey made the big throws and shots for Prometheus to achieve victory over AEK Betsson (100-95) in the Derby of Game 9 of the Stoiximan Basket League.
The derby of the 9th round of the Stoiximan Basket League became a one-man show on Saturday evening (December 2nd) in Tofalos. Prometheus edged out AEK Betsson 100-95, with Hunter Hale the absolute star thanks to his scoring prowess that keeps the Patrinos behind Panathinaikos and Olympiakos in the Stoiximan Basket League standings.
The American guard was stopped at 32 points (5/7 2-pointers, 6/12 3-pointers, 4/5 shots), with Cowan and Coffey supporting him with big throws and precise shots in the final minutes. Prometheus climbed to 7-2 (5-0 at home and 2-2 away), impressive and the amazing start from Jaime Etzenike, who scored quickly in the first quarter and then passed the baton to his teammates.
AEK fell to 4-5 (4-1 home and 0-5 away), with coach Plathas still hoping for his team’s first double of the season, aiming for 40 minutes of duration and consistency on both ends of the floor. Efiondou Campengele was the one who stood out in the first part, Chaison Randle and Jordan McRae were the two who tried in the second. The yellow-blacks were reduced from 26 to six (88-82) and four (99-95), but without achieving more.
