Dimitris Itoudis lashed out at the referees for hitting Yam Madar in the face with a coin
Angry at the referees of the Besiktas – Fenerbahce match, he called the person who flipped a coin and injured Yam Madar a terrorist.
Fenerbahce lost to Besiktas 68:64, but what bothered Dimitris Itoudis the most on Saturday (December 2) were the incidents on the opposing field and the coin that injured Yam Madar in the face.
The Greek coach spoke to the referees after the end of the game and said: “Today we can’t talk about basketball. Madar took a coin in his eye. He could have lost his eye. Knock on wood and hope this doesn’t happen again. But I would like to ask the association and the authorities: would the game have continued if a coin had fallen into a referee’s eye?“.
Itoudis added: “The person who flipped the coin is a terrorist. And I disagree with my colleague Dusan Alibijevic, who says there is nothing we can do. The game continued, my player went to the locker room while I needed him. What should I do about that? I respect Besiktas, but I ask you: can something like this happen in one of their EuroCup games?“.
