Moe Wagner, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green’s brutal anecdote
Podcasts are a bottomless pit of anecdotes. It’s become increasingly common for NBA players, current and retired, to talk about their battles on the court, but for fans of the sport, it’s time to get a first-hand look at the hidden stories of the sport we love. Because there is nothing more rewarding than knowing. .
One of the last reveals has three protagonists, a young Mo Wagner, Draymond Green, and Kevin Durant, who are still with the Warriors. Now a Magic star, he started his career with the Lakers, but things didn’t go well for him, leaving us with some memorable moments. Despite being a rookie, the German dared to tell Kevin Durant that he couldn’t defend himself after committing a foul on a 3-point shot.
Wagner clarified that he didn’t even know who he told him about, but he was already in a bad state. The look of disbelief on KD’s face and the smell of Draymond Green’s blood. As Wagner tells it (the images reveal it with remarkable fidelity), it was the words he said to Durant that put his journey to the free-throw line to the test. As soon as the first attempt from the line failed, Draymond loudly yelled, “He’s scared!” and tried to get into the rookie’s head. The strategy didn’t work in the second game, but it worked in the third, drawing laughter from the Warriors’ bench as the Lakers’ No. 15 yelled from the rooftops again that he was so scared.
Things didn’t end there, as Green took advantage of the German’s poor defense in the next action and scored, but Draymond took advantage of it again and hurled abuse at Green.
