The 10th matchday of the Stoiximan Basket League was completed in three parts, which offered a rich spectacle and interesting games for another week.

Nikola Milutinov, who had no opponent on the “drawing board”, Ahmed Hill, who scored 40 points, but it was not enough, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, who redeemed AEK Betsson in the exhale, and everything that happened in the last three days of competition.

Nikola Milutinov was the absolute master in Olympiakos’ comfortable victory over Karditsa, with the Serbian center scoring an unimaginable double-double. The big man from Giorgos Bartzokas’ team scored 21 points and grabbed the same number of rebounds, doing whatever he wanted in the red and white’s victory. He accumulated 39 rating system points, the most of any player on Matchday 10, and was named Most Valuable Player of the Week.

Unstoppable

Ahmed Hill delivered an impressive goal performance, but Maroussi couldn’t get the positive result against AEK Betsson. The American guard played 39’12” and scored 40 points on 7/15 three-pointers, 6/7 two-pointers and 7/9 shots during this time. He even made a very difficult shot that would have sent the game into overtime had Mindaugas Kuzminskas not had an opponent’s sight on the next possession with 1.2 inches on the clock. His 40 points were the best points performance of the game and his performance is definitely worth mentioning, even if he failed to combine it with a winning result.

Attack… fire

A sensational game was played in Rhodes between Colossus and Promethea, with the home team winning the game 114-109 in the extra five minutes of overtime. A particularly entertaining game for basketball fans in which the attacks dominate. The team that smiled in the final was Kolossos, which scored 27 points from behind the line in 6:75 minutes (9/28 three-pointers), 58 points from two-pointers (29/51) and 29 points from free throws (29/35).

Defense… reinforced concrete

Olympiakos passed Karditsa impressively and restricted the Thessalians to the highest degree without them being able to connect with the basket. Giorgos Bartzokas’ players held Karditsa to 54 points and with such a defensive role, the positive result would hardly come about. Opera and it happened that the red and whites achieved a particularly comfortable victory.

With AEK Betsson leading by three points (89-86), Ahmed Hill shoots a long-range shot of 1.2 inches before the final and everything points to the game going into overtime. There were two very nice moments of fair play in the game between Olympiakos and Karditsa. Michalis Lountzis and Vassilis Christidis intentionally fouled Konstantinos Pilitsis and Tasos Rozakeas, respectively, to score at the free throw line. The player from the Thessalian team took advantage of his two shots, but the athlete from the red and white team missed a goal. Regardless, these were two great moves by players from both teams that deserve attention and recognition.

The winners of the competition

Kolossos, Apollonas, AEK Betsson, Aris, Panathinaikos AKTOR and Olympiacos continued their competitive duties with victories and improved their records on the scoreboard. Ergin Ataman’s team remains at the top of the table, the only unbeaten team in the league, with ten wins in as many games.

The dates for the Final Eight

We are approaching the final of the first round and the situation is becoming clearer regarding the 7 tickets that the Stoiximan Basket League is giving out to the Final Eight of the Greek Cup. The first six places are secured by Olympiakos, Panathinaikos AKTOR, Promethea, AEK Betsson, Aris and PAOK, the seventh ticket is still looking for a holder.

If Peristeri bwin beats AEK Betsson on the next matchday, it will win its place in the Final Eight. If he is defeated and Colossus is victorious over Amarousi, the ticket goes to Rhodes. If Kolossos loses, qualification will go to Vassilis Spanoulis’ team.

We remind you that the eighth place for the Final Eight of the Greek Cup comes from the UNICEF Trophy, which will be claimed by Panionios, Milonas, Doxa Lefkada and Megarida.
