Dmitry Zabirchenko, the new head coach of the capital’s Kiev-Basket club, talked about how he adapted to the team and what he wants to do with his players.

“My impressions have been positive since I started working, my friends have welcomed me very well. They listen, they do; I see that they are interested in the innovations we are trying to introduce. Both during playing time and off the field. So they’re interested and I’m interested too – that’s good.

How is the adaptation going? It’s still a little difficult, but we’re trying. In principle, there is time for this. But we understand that these are unimportant. We will work step by step. We will be better. Mentally, tactically and physically. We are trying to improve everything to win as many victories as possible in this bubble.

I know all the guys, physically everything is fine. They can withstand loads. You just need to change the style a bit to suit me, my strategy and my vision of the game. And it’s not easy, so I say once again that we will try to get better and try to get better every day. Step by step, training after training,” Zabirchenko admitted.

In the next bubble of Super League matches, which will be played in Kiev from 17 to 19 December, “Kiev-Basket” will play matches with BIPA, “Cherkasy Mavp” and “Old Lutsk”.
