Nikos Hatzis on SPORT24: “Art will not be forgotten”

Nikos Hatzis proved that the ancient art is not forgotten and in addition to his outstanding performance in the All Time Stars match, he also won the three-point competition and reminded everyone of his leadership qualities from afar. Nikos Hatzis is one of the top shooters who have visited the Greek stadiums and he made sure to remember this at the premiere of the All Star Game in Karditsa.

The veteran guard, who spent most of his career with AEK Betsson and had a brief stint with Olympiakos, won the three-point contest after a long battle with Nikos Boudouris, who appeared to be in great shape.

After the devastating floods, Karditsa is getting back on its feet by organizing this celebration of Greek basketball in the renovated “Yiannis Bourousis” hall. The veteran guard praised the Thessalonians’ efforts, saying: “Very good efforts have been made in Karditsa in recent years. With this progress, I wish everyone involved that sport and especially basketball will become more important in Karditsa. You will have the strength to achieve even greater things.”

Thodoris Zagorakis and Angelos Charisteas, with long and important careers in Greek football, put on their basketball shoes and entered the pitch. When asked if he would do something similar by taking to the pitch to compete, Nikos Hatzis replied Of course I would go if it had a specific purpose.”although he doesn’t watch much football in his free time.
