Six-time NBA champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar explained the circumstances under which he suffered a hip fracture.
The 76-year-old ex-basketball player was injured on Friday at a concert, after which he was taken to a medical center, where he underwent surgery.
“I’d like to say I fell trying to save a child from falling off the balcony, but I just tripped.” It’s hard for me to come to terms with the fact that a once world-class athlete simply stumbled. But age is the great equalizer and humbles us all,” Abdul-Jabbar quotes TMZ.
The basketball player was twice recognized as the most valuable player of the NBA finals. In 1995 he was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
