American media published parts of the testimony of Comanchi and his girlfriend Sakari Harden, who was also accused. As it became known, the two had been planning this particular murder for a long time, because Rodgers blackmailed Harden and demanded an expensive watch from her.

According to the publications, the two alleged accomplices (and the former couple) had been in contact for some time and planned to continue the murder of Rogers as the team Comanche played for – the Stockton Kings, the G-League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings – would be in Las Vegas. And that’s what happened.

The two accomplices and the victim chatted on a platform, with Comanchi allegedly asking Marianna Rogers to have sex with him and his girlfriend and offering her $1,000. In this context, he stated that he asked both of them to tie their hands in the car, which the victim accepted.

But once he had tied her hands, he took a cable, wrapped it around her neck and, with the help of his friend, strangled Rogers. Then they went to a deserted area and left the body behind, which was found a few days ago.
