Patrick Beverley: “I would have put a hole in Giannis’ ball”
There’s nothing much to talk about in the NBA other than the big controversy of the past few weeks. It’s been a few days, and everyone wants to have an opinion on the chaotic ending to the game between the Milauki Bucks and Indiana Pacers.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored 64 points, wanted to immortalize his scoring record and the team’s highest score on the game ball. Nothing strange, but the Pacers had other plans and decided to hold him back for rookie Oscar Tshibwe, who scored the first points, risking a brawl in the locker room.
And if we talk about fights and trouble, Patrick Beverley has to be involved in some way. The Sixers point guard talked about how he would handle this whole situation and offered a solution that the Pacers didn’t adopt…but it would end the controversy over ball management: Divide the ball from top to bottom.
“If it were me, I would have opened the hole. Would you beat me and get 60 points? You can have the ball, but I would peel it like an orange and leave it in pieces. Would you like it? I’d sign it. The NBA is a drama, and I love it.”
In the end, he even had time to comment on the Pacers’ latest addition, which brought in a natural fighter like James Johnson just in case.
