Panathinaikos was the team that smiled in the big quarter-final of the Women’s Cup against Olympiakos. The Greens won 65:61 and moved into the top four.

Panathinaikos secured their place in the semi-finals of the Women’s Cup. The Greens smiled in the thriller against Olympiakos, winning 65-61 and securing the coveted qualification.

The game was a real derby, with the two teams close and neither able to escape and develop a difference. In the final, the tension reached its peak and Panathinaikos had the composure needed to win the game.


Great game from Jones with 24 points, followed by the great Alain with 12 points and 18 rebounds in an exuberant double-double.

Esperides, Eleftheria Moschatou and PAS Ioannina have also secured their place in the top four.


From fifteen minutes into the first half, the two teams were divided, with Olympiakos having the upper hand in the first third and Panathinaikos in the second third. The Red-Whites tried to attack near the basket, while the Greens found solutions from the perimeter, especially from Jones.

Alain dominated the drawing room and scored an early double-double for the Greens, while Vitola played a great game for the Red and Whites and had Christinaki as a worthy supporter. The game was… a thriller and the tension reached its peak in the finale.

Nikolopoulou gave Olympiakos a one-point lead (59-60) before Jones responded with 61-60. She herself sent Panathinaikos to +3 (63-60) with two shots 13 inches from the final. Nikolopoulou missed the equalizing shot and then with shots from both sides it was 65-61 in the final.
