Slovenian Sekulic told how he decided to head Lokomotiv-Kuban
The head coach of BC Lokomotiv-Kuban and the Slovenian national team, Alexander Sekulic, told how long the negotiations with the club’s management took.
Sekulic has been heading Lokomotiv-Kuban since 2022. Last season, under his leadership, the Krasnodar club reached the finals of the VTB United League for the first time in its history.
— Everyone knows how difficult the situation is now in Europe regarding work in Russia. But I doubted it until I received the consent of the Slovenian Basketball Federation, because at that time I was already the head coach of the national team. As soon as they gave me the green light, I immediately began to negotiate the details of the contract. After all, everyone knows how big Lokomotiv-Kuban is in basketball and what heights the club has achieved,” Sekulic told the Championship.
