Olympic medalist becomes Avtodor player

Former captain of the Russian national basketball team Vitaly Fridzon signed a contract with Avtodor, according to the website of the Saratov club.
The agreement with the 38-year-old defender runs until the end of the season.
— Fridzon needs no introduction. We are glad that a basketball player with such experience and a rich track record is joining our team. We believe that Vitaly’s playing and human qualities will help us in the decisive part of the season,” said Avtodor executive director Oleg Rodionov.
Fridzon played for Khimki near Moscow (2004–2013), CSKA Moscow (2013–2018), Krasnodar club Lokomotiv-Kuban (2018–2020) and Zenit St. Petersburg (2020–2023). As part of the army team, the defender became the Euroleague champion and won the European Cup with Khimki. Together with the Russian team, Fridzon won bronze medals at the European Championships and the Olympic Games.
