In Germany, a second young basketball player from Ukraine died after an attack
Ukrainian basketball player Artem Kozachenko died in a hospital in Germany, the press service of the ART Giants (U-19) team from Dusseldorf reports.
On February 10, in the German city of Oberhausen, young players Vladimir Ermakov and Artem Kozachenko were attacked at the train station. The young people were attacked by minors with knives. 17-year-old Ermakov died immediately from his injuries, and Kozachenko was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
“After the tragic act of violence in Oberhausen almost a week ago, Artem Kozachenko has now died in hospital from severe injuries. The 18-year-old survived the brutal knife attack but died from serious injuries on Tuesday.
After the riots in Oberhausen, Kozachenko was in the hospital in the intensive care unit. “Unfortunately, over the past few days, his condition has deteriorated so much that doctors were no longer able to treat him,” the club said in a press release.
Earlier, the police had already arrested three teenagers who are suspects in the murder of Ukrainians.
