Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch suffered a knee injury in a collision with his team’s player in the National Basketball Association (NBA) playoff game against Phoenix, ESPN reports.
Minnesota beat the Phoenix Suns (122:116) in the fourth game of the playoff series and advanced to the next round of the tournament.
The collision occurred at the end of the fourth quarter. Minnesota point guard Mike Conley collided with Finch, who fell to the floor and clutched his right knee.
The 54-year-old specialist got to his feet only a few minutes later and left the site, managing to get to the locker room only with outside help. Finch was diagnosed with a torn patellar tendon.
Finch left the arena in a wheelchair and did not speak to the media after the game, with assistant coach Micah Norie taking over his duties.
