The new head coach of Paris Nizhny Novgorod Sergei Kozin spoke about working with the ex-coach of the basketball club Zoran Lukic.
On Friday, Kozin officially replaced Lukic as coach of the Nizhny Novgorod team.
“He regularly involved me in the process, in communicating with the players, telling me how certain things happened. I was constantly present in various situations in order to understand as much as possible what the work of a head coach is, because this activity is connected not only with conducting training and games, it is also quite a lot of work off the court.
Yes, Zoran suggested my candidacy more than once, but it didn’t matter to me when this would happen. I just continued to help the head coach as much as possible with the team, holding games, and preparing. And I knew: if you do your job well, then the moment will come when you will get a chance,” Kozin is quoted as saying by “Championship.”
Nizhny Novgorod finished the season in the VTB United League in 12th place and did not qualify for the final stage of the tournament.
