Dallas basketball player Luka Doncic may receive the largest contract in the history of the National Basketball Association, ESPN journalist Bobby Marks reports on the social network.
The Slovenian defender was included in the first NBA All-Star team following the results of the 2023/24 regular season. This achievement will allow him to sign a supermax extension and the most expensive contract in league history, Marks notes.
Doncic, 25, could sign a five-year deal worth about $346 million in 2025. In this case, for the first time the average annual salary of an NBA player will exceed $80 million.
This season, Doncic averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game during the regular season.
Dallas leads 1-0 in the Western Conference playoff finale against Minnesota.
