CSKA head coach Andreas Pistiolis said that he is not yet worried about the club not participating in the Euroleague.
The Russian team was suspended from the tournament for political reasons.
— Euroleague? It’s not a problem. That’s how things turned out. I believe that CSKA will return to the Euroleague soon. The United League is very competitive. The level of play is very high. So I’m not even thinking about the Euroleague yet, — Pistiolis is quoted as saying by “Championship”.
Pistiolis took over the army team in April of this year. Under the specialist’s guidance, CSKA won the VTB United League, beating UNICS in the final series (4–1). In May, the coach extended his contract with the Muscovites until the end of the 2025/26 season.
