Forward Andrei Vorontsevich, who transferred to Zenit, is in good shape, so it is not surprising that, despite his age, he has become a player for one of the best clubs in the VTB United League, former Russian national team defender Victor Keyru told Match TV.
Zenit announced on Wednesday that it had signed a contract with the 36-year-old forward. The agreement was concluded on a 1+1 basis. Last season, the basketball player played for PARI NN and UNICS. As part of the team from Kazan, Vorontsevich reached the final of the United League this year, and last year he won the title.
— I am glad that Andrey, despite his age, is still at the top and is a player of one of the best clubs in the United League. I would like to note that as part of UNICS, he played very well and effectively in the first match of the final series with CSKA. I cannot say that Vorontsevich’s transfer to Zenit surprised me. This is natural. There are not many Russian players of his level in the United League championship. And the fact that Zenit is trying to change its roster and take on new players, including experienced ones, is a normal story, — Keyru told Match TV.
