Spar Girona strengthens with Natasha Mack interior
Spar Girona officially announced this Saturday the signing of Natasha Mack. The 26-year-old, 1.93m American center holds a Montenegrin passport and was one of the most outstanding players at the last EuroBasket, averaging 13.8 points and 11 rebounds per game. He has played for European teams such as AZS UMCS Lublin in Poland and Botas SK in Turkey. The player currently plays for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, averaging 3.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 16.8 minutes on the court.
With the addition of Mack, the club will strengthen its interior game with a player who, in addition to being a scorer, also has good defensive skills. The team already has a total of 10 players for next season. Sandra Higuerabide, Laura Peña and Marta Canella are on current contracts, Aiñoa Lopez has been renewed and Carolina Guerrero, Borislava Hristova, Chloe Bibby, Minha Touré, Clara Lundquist and Natasha Mack have joined. All of them are under the direction of the also new Roberto Iniguez.
Sporting director Laia Palau had this to say about the American’s arrival: “She is a player with great size, athleticism and physicality, with the ability to intimidate offensive players. “She is a great connoisseur of European basketball and an inside offensive reference with a colorful and athletic game,” he noted.
