NBA champion goes missing after signing contract with Russian club
NBA champion Quinndary Witherspoon, a member of the Golden State Warriors, did not arrive at the Saratov Avtodor location at the appointed time, the basketball club’s press service reported.
The contract with the 27-year-old player was signed in the summer and runs until the end of the 2024/25 season.
— Our club faced a completely unprofessional attitude towards the matter from player Quinndary Witherspoon. The player missed several flights to arrive at the club’s location, and then completely stopped communicating.
In this regard, BC Avtodor is currently searching for another player for the position of attacking defender and will take all possible measures, including legal ones, to protect its interests under the contract with Witherspoon, the statement says.
The new season of the VTB United League starts on September 21.
