Moscow court sentences man who beat basketball player Shved to three years in general regime

The capital’s court sentenced Yusuf Mirashurov, who beat up former CSKA basketball defender Alexei Shved, to three years in a general regime penal colony, the press service of the Moscow prosecutor’s office reported.
The attack on Shved took place on May 1, 2023, near a Moscow restaurant. The basketball player was hospitalized and suffered an open penetrating craniocerebral injury with skull fractures and a brain contusion.
Mirashurov was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm). It is noted that Mirashurov himself partially admitted his guilt.
