American CSKA point guard Melo Trimble spoke about the cultural differences between Russia and the United States.
– Of course, there are cultural differences. The difference in people, in the way they behave – not in a bad way. They are just different. From my experience in Russia, people here are much nicer than in Washington, Maryland, Virginia, and so on.
I think they are much kinder and friendlier. The only thing I noticed is that each person is mostly on their own, or on their phone. Everyone is always on their phone. For example, when I am driving in the car and looking out the window, everyone is just looking at their phone, texting, or just using it.
“Like I said, people are generally a lot nicer. You wouldn’t understand that unless you’ve been to Russia. I say that as an American. Other than that, it’s the same because I don’t do much, I don’t leave the house much. I just do my job, play basketball, and that’s it,” Trimble told “Championship.”
Trimble has been playing for CSKA since the summer of 2023. Last season, he became the team’s top scorer and was also named MVP of the VTB United League playoff stage.
The new season of the VTB United League starts on September 21.
