Tymoshchuk named three current Zenit basketball players who are similar to him, Arshavin and Pogrebnyak
Zenit football coach Anatoly Timoshchuk compared three basketball players of the St. Petersburg club Alex Poythress, Omari Spellman and Xavier Moon with himself, as well as other ex-players of the “blue-white-blue” Andrei Arshavin and Pavel Pogrebnyak.
— The composition has changed significantly. If we compare this roster, say, with the Zenit football team in 2007, then who is Spellman, who is Bacon, and who is Moon?
– It’s hard to compare. Probably Moon is more similar to Arshavin in his build. I’m probably more Poythress, because he’s so powerful and in the center of the court. Spellman – Pasha Pogrebnyak. Some parallels can be drawn purely in a humorous manner. But I think the guys need to add a little bit of dedication. Because even according to Poythress, if you compare it with his previous performance for Zenit, he was more aggressive. Today he is playing well and efficiently, but still, personally, I expect more from him,” the Zenit basketball website quotes Tymoshchuk.
Tymoshchuk played for Zenit in 2007–2009 and 2013–2015, winning the UEFA Cup and two-time Russian champion.
