“Russian top basketball clubs could easily join the Euroleague participants” – CSKA player Avramovich
Serbian basketball player CSKA Aleksa Avramovic believes that Russian top clubs could easily join the Euroleague participants.
Russian basketball clubs have been suspended from participating in international tournaments due to the situation in Ukraine.
– Here [в России] there are a lot of cool basketball players. Off the top of my head, I can name Zenit’s American legionnaires Xavier Moon and Dwayne Bacon, Jalen Reynolds and Devon Acuna-Purcell from UNICS, Patrick Miller and Anthony Cleveland from Lokomotiv-Kuban. Many have experience playing in the Euroleague and NBA. But my most important impression is my team.
— Based on your experience, can you confirm that clubs like CSKA, Zenit, UNICS are teams at the Euroleague playoff level?
– For sure, this cannot be said. We had experience playing with a team from the Euroleague, Red Star, in the Super Cup: we beat them, just like Zenit. But one should not draw far-reaching conclusions. My personal opinion: Russian top clubs could easily join the Euroleague participants,” Avramovich told Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
