Coach Kevin Young: “Dyomin learns a lot with every game in the NCAA”
Egor Demin’s coach at Brigham Young University (BYU), Kevin Young, believes that the Russian basketball player learns a lot with every game in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) matches.
In November 2024, 18-year-old Demin was named the Big 12 NCAA Rookie of the Week twice in a row.
– Yes. He was forced to take on an even larger role than expected. Because Dallin Hull, who was and is our starting point guard, was out for several games. The plan is for him and Egor to play together and then alternate between them in terms of replacements. So they will both have a lot of possession.
But Egor was put in a position where he often had to read the game with the ball in his hands. I think he did a good job. He did what I expected. He’s throwing great now, which is great to see. I think he learns a lot every game and every day of practice. “I’m very pleased with what he’s shown so far,” Young was quoted as saying by “Championship.”
