The former NBA player was transplanted
Former defender of several NBA Clubs Nate Robinson successfully underwent a kidney transplant operation, ESPN reports.
The operation that lasted several hours was done by doctors of the Medical Center of the University of Washington in Seattle.
Robinson learned about the problems with the kidneys and the need to transplant about 20 years ago when he played for New York NIX. In 2021, he began to regularly undergo the dialysis procedure. In the fall of 2022, Robinson first publicly announced the passage of treatment due to renal failure, and in the spring of 2024 said that he needed a donor.
Robinson is 40 years old, he was chosen by the Phoenix under the 21st number in the 2005 NBA draft. The American played the NBA from 2005 to 2015 for eight different teams. In the regular championships, he scored an average of 11 points per game, won a competition for throws from above three times as part of the NBA stars match.
