– Dear basketball lovers, media representatives and all interested parties!

The Basketball Federation of St. Petersburg expresses deep concern in connection with the incident in the match of the St. Petersburg basketball championship among girls born in 2009 between the teams of the Kalinin SSHOR and the Kupchinsky Olympus, which ended with a score of 10: 277.

After a thorough analysis of the situation and studying all the circumstances of the match, the Basketball Federation of St. Petersburg decided to cancel the result of the game. This match does not correspond to the spirit and principles of sports rivalry, as well as the norms of professional ethics.

We are extremely unhappy with what happened and believe that such situations are unacceptable in sports. The Basketball Federation of St. Petersburg intends to conduct a detailed trial with the participation of the sports and technical commission (STK) to evaluate the actions of all participants in the match: players, trainers, judges and officials.

The following aspects will be considered as part of the trial:

1. The behavior of players and coaches of both teams.

2. The actions of the judicial brigade, including the decision not to stop the match with a clear absence of resistance from one of the teams.

3. The role of officials responsible for organizing and conducting competitions.

According to the results, appropriate measures will be taken, including possible disciplinary sanctions against persons whose actions or inaction led to this situation. The Basketball Federation of St. Petersburg intends to strengthen control over the conduct of competitions and increase the level of training of the judiciary in order to eliminate the repetition of such incidents in the future.

We urge all participants in the basketball community to comply with the principles of an honest game, respect for the opponent and spectators. Basketball is not only a sport, but also a school of life, where not only victories are important, but also decent behavior on the site.

The Basketball Federation of St. Petersburg guarantees that all decisions on this incident will be adopted in accordance with the regulations and norms of sports justice, the FBSPB statement said.
