The two -time world champion and two -time winner of the Olympic Games Vlamir Marquez died
Vlamir Marquez, who was considered one of the best Brazilian basketball players of all time, died at the age of 87, the Korintiansa press service reports.
Marquez was part of the Brazilian national team, which became the winner of the World Cup in 1959 and 1963, and also won with it two bronze Olympic medals in 1960 and 1964.
– “Blond Devil” is a nickname that he received during his speech for the Brazilian team, which won two world champion titles. He moved to Corinthians in 1962, at the peak of his career, and won 18 titles with the team.
After leaving the big sport, Vlamir returned to Corinthians, where he worked as a coach in both male and women’s teams, the text of the Brazilian club press service said.
In 2023, Vlamir Marquez was included in the Fiba Glory Hall.
