The plane with the Indiana Pacials basketball players arrived in Oklahoma City for the first matches of the NBA final series with a delay of 3.5 hours due to absurd weather, ESPN reports.
In the final of the NBA -2024/25 season, the best team of the regular season of Oklahoma City Tander and Indiana Pacials will meet. The first matches of the series up to four victories will be held in Oklahoma City on June 5 (June 6 by Moscow time) and June 8 (9th in Moscow time).
Indiana basketball players flew to Oklahoma on Tuesday, but their flight was 3.5 hours longer than the planned. The dispatchers twice changed the flight route due to threats of tornado, storm and strong thunderstorms, which are announced in the state this week. After two changes in the route and one refueling, the plane landed safely in Oklahoma City.
Indiana will play in the NBA final for the first time since 2000, and Oklahoma for the first time since 2012. Indiana never became the champion of the NBA, Oklahoma succeeded only once – in 1979.
