Valencia Basket moves to ACB with second game arbitration
The second game in the Endesa League final ended with a 102-96 victory in overtime for Real Madrid, but the focus of the match quickly shifted from sport to arbitration. A series of controversial decisions in the final stretch of regulation time caused discomfort in the Valencia basket. This believes that some errors can directly affect the outcome of the meeting.
The Taronja team, which improved profits regarding the second game and competed for 40 minutes, was surpassed in the last bar with extra time. However, beyond the results, attention was focused on several important plays that have not been reviewed by Arbitration Trio. Above all, Walter Tavares’ illegal hat could have been reviewed in accordance with regulations and as it was done for the rest of the season, if it was first shown as a basket.
Valencia’s organizations have already internally transferred the discomfort to ACB and arbitral property. From the club and as the coach said, they believe that in the finals, the bar must be left to the competition. Pedro Martinez didn’t hide his anger at a later press conference and admitted that he was “burned” in the situation. He congratulated his party to Real Madrid, but he also expressed his disappointment with the arbitration standards in determining the party’s circumstances. The technician says his team will review the video play and hopes the arbitration manager will do the same “in a serious and professional way.”
