The Russian basketball player Daniil Kasatkin, arrested in France, said the prison officers are annoyed when he is trying to talk to them in English.

In June, 26 -year -old Kasatkin was arrested in France at the request of the United States in connection with suspicion of involvement in cybercrime. He is suspected of participating in a hacker network engaged in extortion. The athlete does not admit his guilt. The basketball player was detained at the Paris airport, where he arrived with his bride.

– The first two days I was held in a police station. On Monday morning, I was to be taken to court, and then to prison. Anna, knowing about it and, of course, as the best woman in the world, she was waiting for me near the police station in order to at least see me. When they brought me out through the back door, she saw it and ran to me. It was like a scene from the film. I could not imagine that this could happen to me.

When I was put in the car, it was about 15 meters from me, and we shouted to each other that we love each other. The most important thing is that when they put me in the car, Anna was not afraid to come closer. Thank God the windows were open, and she was able to shout out the name of the lawyer whom I had to name the prosecutor: Frederick Bel.

Only thanks to this I was able to get my lawyer, because without him I would simply not be able to contact Anna to find him. I was very afraid to forget his name, because the road was short. His name is Frederick Bel, and to remember, I constantly repeated him to myself all three to four hours of driving to the court building. In order to create an association and not forget his name, I tied his name Frederick with the basketball player of the NBA Fred Vanvlit, and the name is white with the word “pilot”.

In court, I naturally stated that I know absolutely nothing about the charges against me and refuse extradition. After that, I was sent to prison, where I am now. As far as I know, this prison is 200 years old. I will not go into the details of her work. I can only say that solving any problem here is incredibly difficult, especially if you do not know French. All employees are annoyed when I try to talk to them in English. I hope that Anna will soon be able to send me a book to study the French or French -Russian dictionary. I want to understand what they say to me and be able to solve elementary problems here, ”wrote Kasatkin in a letter whose text was provided by“ Match TV ”by the lawyer of the basketball player Frederick Bel.
