Andrei Kirilenko – on the return to the international arena: “There are no positive changes. Oi -2028? We don’t think about it. Why wind yourself up? “
The head of the Russian Federation of the basketball (RFB) Andrei Kirilenko in an interview with Match TV stated that there are no positive ascecks to the return of Russian teams to the international arena.
Russian national teams have been removed from participation in international competitions since February 2022 because of the situation in Ukraine.
– Do you see the prerequisites for our return to the international arena now? What does the International Basketball Federation say about this?
– At the moment, there are no positive changes in this matter.
– Do you think we will play at the 2028 Olympics?
“We don’t even think about it.” Why wind yourself up? Or underestimate. Our task is to adapt to the current realities. To date, we do not participate in the 2028 Olympics. On our side, we will do everything possible so that the guys and girls can quickly return to official international competitions, ”Kirilenko said Match TV.
