Uncle Nikola Yokich was detained in Serbia in the case of the collapse of the canopy at the station in Novi -Sad

Sinisha Yokich, uncle basketball player Denver Nuggets and the national team of Serbia Nikola Yokich, was among the 14 people detained in the case of the collapse of a concrete canopy at the Railway Station in Novy -Sada, the Nedeljnik newspaper reports.
A canopy in Novi -Sad fell upon November 1, 2024. The tragedy claimed the lives of 16 people, including a six -year -old child. The investigation in this case continues.
Sinisha Yokich is a historian, public figure and member of the Serbian progressive party. He headed the Institute for the Protection of Culture Monuments of Novi -Sad, first as the acting director since 2016, and then as a director since 2021. The opposition often criticized the uncle of the famous basketball player for the admission of projects that threaten the cultural and architectural heritage of the city. Sinisha resigned on October 27, 2024, just a few days before the tragedy at the railway station.
