Swede: “Chinese clubs are showing interest. But my priority is to stay at Zenit
Russian basketball player Alexey Shved said on Match TV that he wants to sign a new contract with Zenit St. Petersburg.
On August 2, Match TV reported that the 36-year-old defender left Zenit and became a free agent.
— While negotiations with Zenit are ongoing. So I’m preparing for the next season. I liked it in St. Petersburg, so we are talking with Zenit. I need to get in shape and be ready for the season – that’s my job. And my agent’s job is to negotiate.
Chinese clubs are showing interest. They’re talking to my agent. But my priority is to stay at Zenit. I really liked everything: the atmosphere, the club, the attitude – everything was at a high level. “I’m sitting quietly and waiting for the contract,” Shved said on Match TV.
The Swede took part in 33 matches in the VTB United League last season, averaging 9.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists. Previously, the basketball player played for the Chinese Shanxi Lungs.
