Pippen: ‘I’m not sure Doncic and Jokic could have dominated the 1990s NBA’

Six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen said that the league’s top scorers might have struggled in the late 20th century NBA because of different officiating rules.

— Could Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic have dominated the NBA of my time? Not sure. Since then, the rules and game realities have changed. Now basketball players shoot freely, so they score a lot. In our time, we pressed hard all over the court.

I doubt that Jokic could comfortably clear the ball under our pressure. If our golden squad met with the strongest team of our time, everything would depend on what rules to play by,” Marca quotes Pippen.

Pippen was an NBA champion from 1991-1993 and 1996-1998, winning all titles with the Chicago Bulls.
