Demin set a record among Russians for points in his NBA debut
Brooklyn’s Russian guard Egor Demin set a record for points among Russian players in his NBA debut.
In the regular season game against Charlotte (117:136), Demin scored 14 points. Previously, the record belonged to Sergei Bazarevich, who scored nine points in his debut match for Atlanta in 1994.
Brooklyn selected 19-year-old Demin eighth overall in the 2025 NBA Draft. This is a record high number for Russian basketball players in history.
Demin was born in Moscow, where he began his basketball career. In 2021, at the age of 15, he signed a contract with Real Madrid, and later decided to move to the United States and play college basketball.
