Zenit center Poythress will miss the rest of the 2025/26 season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament
Zenit basketball player Alex Poythress is out for the rest of the season due to injury, reports the team’s press service from St. Petersburg.
Based on the results of a medical examination, the 32-year-old center was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Poythress ranks sixth in the number of games played for Zenit – 181 matches – and is the absolute leader among foreign players in this indicator.
Earlier, Zenit sports director Sani Becirovic told Match TV that the club would enter the market in search of a replacement for the injured player.
In the current VTB United League, Poythress played 7 matches, in which he averaged 14.3 points, 7 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.7 blocked shots and 0.4 steals.
