The RFB and the All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports entered into a cooperation agreement

The Russian Basketball Federation (RBF) and the All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports (VFFS) signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday at the “Russia – a Sports Power” forum in Samara, the RFB press service reports.

The document was signed by the General Secretary, Executive Director of the RFB Vladimir Dyachko and the head of the VFFS Nikita Nagorny. The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and the Minister of Sports, President of the ROC Mikhail Degtyarev.

The agreement is aimed at developing the functional-digital discipline “basketball combined” and at popularizing sports disciplines in the “physical” format and physical sports in general. The parties agreed on the possibility of jointly organizing and holding competitions, as well as forming and preparing Russian sports teams for international competitions.

— Basketball combined is no longer an experimental sport, but a working tool to involve us in our favorite ball game. We see how children are getting involved, how interest from the regions is growing. Now it is important to consolidate this progress. The signing of an agreement with the All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports is an important stage in the development of the discipline and our common fulcrum, which allows us to systematize and consolidate common rules, clear requirements for judges and other joint agreements,” said Dyachok.

“Together with leading federations, we are beginning to form a new generation of universal athletes who will be equally strong in real sports and digital disciplines. Fidgetal sports uses the best traditions of hockey, football, basketball, and motorsports, complementing them with modern digital capabilities. Joint work with the Russian basketball and hockey federations, the Russian Football Union and the Automobile Sports Federation will make it possible to take the holding of competitions and the popularization of physical sports to a whole new level, primarily among young people, Nagorny added.
