Dallas Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont announced he has relieved Nico Harrison of his duties as general manager and president of basketball operations.

“No one in the organization is happy with the start of the season, which we all thought was going to be promising. You have high hopes for the Mavericks, and I share them with you. If the results do not live up to expectations, I am obliged to act,” Dumont wrote in a message to the fans, as quoted by the Dallas press service.

Michael Finley and Matt Ricciardi will serve as interim general managers for the Mavericks.

Harrison has served as Dallas’ general manager since June 2021. During last season, the general manager decided to part ways with team leader Luka Doncic, who was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.

This season, Dallas is in second-to-last place in the Western Conference standings with three wins in 11 matches.
