The last three matches of the eighth round of the Super League, which closed the Ukrainian Championship program in 2025, took place on December 21.

Tournament leader Dnepr won a comfortable victory over Krivbass in Nikolaev.

From the beginning of the match, Dnepr gained a comfortable advantage with accurate three-point shots (only 11 of 28 from long range) and then calmly kept the game under control. The approximately one-hour break given at the beginning of the third quarter due to an air raid did not change the course of the game.

For the Dnipro team, Vladimir Konev scored 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Maxim Zakurdaev scored a double-double with 16 points. Martin Hill and Alexander Peacock scored 12 points each for Krivbass.

The match played between BC Rivne and Kiev-Basket in Rivne ended with a crushing victory for the guests.

Already in the first quarter, “Kyiv-Basket” broke the intentions of the home team and defeated them with a score of 25:9. It all started with Bublik’s three-pointer, but it was blocked and Mikhail made all three shots from the free throw line. In general, in the first quarter, the teams did not particularly please the audience with accurate long-distance shots: for Rivne, only Alexander Ponosov achieved this, but for the Kiev team, Artem Romanitsa twice made an accurate attack from the same position from the corner of the field.

The Rivne team was more active in the second ten minutes, but could not keep Klevzunik and Karpyuk under their own ring. In the end, Traylor and Dupree started scoring, Korovyakov made an accurate three-point shot, but all this was not enough to save this game. The opponents entered the long break with a score of 25:42.

In the third quarter, the home team gained hope that they could bring back the excitement in the match. After Sushkin hit the Rivne ring from mid-range, the score of the match was decided in favor of the Kiev team at 49:30. Denis Spiridonov called a timeout and Rivne got back into the game with a spectacular three-pointer from the team’s starter, Vitaly Bykov. He made two free throws and then added another three-pointer to narrow the gap to 13 points. Kiev-Basket stopped the Rivne team with 47:58 left in the last quarter and managed to stabilize the game until the end of the third quarter.

Despite the significant advantage in the score in the last ten minutes, “Kyiv-Basket” went on the attack. Bublik, Sushkin, Klevzunik and Karpyuk either completed the attacks with accurate shots or got themselves fouled and converted free throws. When the advantage of the Kiev team reached 27 points with two and a half minutes left in the regular time, it became clear that they would not miss the victory. As a result, “Rivne” was able to regain only 8 points – 63:82.

The best of the capital team was Yaroslav Karpyuk with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

BC “Zaporozhye” defeated local “Niko-Basket” in Nikolaev.

While Nikolaevites were ahead until the middle of the second quarter, the guest team seized the initiative and took the lead after two quarters. Then BC “Zaporozhye” no longer gave the opponent a scoring advantage, but gained a double-digit lead at the beginning of the second half and won the match.

The best of this match for Zaporozhye was American forward Tarig Eisa with 28 points and 8 rebounds (PE 27).
