As part of the regular championship of the Ukrainian Basketball Super League, two matches of the eighth round took place in Nikolaev.

In the first match of the day, Krivbass defeated Zaporozhye.

The teams barely had time to start the match and after 23 seconds the match was stopped due to an air raid. An hour and a half later the game restarted and Krivbass won the first quarter quite easily: The key to this was the starting move with 11:2. Thanks to the accurate shots of Kiktev and Eisa, Zaporozhye began to come to its senses. Despite this, they failed to close the gap at 25:14 of the first 10 minutes.

At the beginning of the second quarter, the teams exchanged long-distance kicks: Peacock scored for Krivbass, Lovings scored for Zaporozhye. However, the nominal guests had their trump card: it was Lishchina who shot twice in a row from long range, returning the intrigue to the match. Although Krivbass tried to keep the distance in the score, Dmitry Shchiglinsky’s team managed to get close to 9 points with 44:35 left before the big break.

“Krivbass” increased its advantage in the third quarter and managed to get away from the opponent by 13 points. In the second half of the quarter, the Kazakhs regained what they had lost: Lovings and Eisa finally felt their game. While the teams entered the last quarter with Kryvbas’ 8-point lead (63:55), Zaporozhye players managed to get within 4 points of the opponent in certain periods. However, at the end of the match, a fantastic 11-0 surge by the Krivoy Rog team determined the match winner.

The most productive player of this match was Krivbass forward Alexander Peacock with 29 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds.

“Dnepr” achieved a crushing victory, without noticing the resistance of the parquet host “Niko-Basket”.

Scoring 55 points in the first half, Dnepr took the lead by 20 points at the end of two quarters and knocked out its opponent by winning the third 10 minutes 25:7.

Dnipro dominated this match in absolutely all statistical indicators. Five team players scored 11 or more points and 11 players scored. The best winner was point guard Mikhail Gorobchenko with 14 points, 9 assists and 5 steals (PE 28).
