Three-time NBA champion Fox announced that he will be elected to the Parliament of the Bahamas
Former NBA player Canadian Rick Fox will run for the legislative assembly of the Bahamas, ESPN reports.
Fox, 56, will run for parliament in the 2026 elections. A native of Canada, Fox has direct ties to the Bahamas. His father was born there, and Rick himself spent his childhood on the islands and began playing basketball in Nassau, the capital of the state.
— We should strive for greater transparency and a modernized economy that prioritizes affordability and safety. We should create a country where opportunities are reality, not promises,” Fox said on social networks.
Fox is a three-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers. After his career ended, he tried to build a business in esports and acquired a team in the North American League of Legends (LoL) Champions League, but soon sold the rights. Fox is also a film actor who has starred primarily in basketball-themed films and television series.
