On December 17, four matches were played in the round of 16 of the Euroleague regular championship.

Zalgiris hosted Anadolu Efes, led by Pablo Laso, who was playing his Euroleague debut, and suffered a crushing defeat.

The Turks started the match better and quickly made the difference by 7 points (13:6) and increased their advantage at the end of the quarter (28:17). The home team managed to stop the opponent’s attacks in the second 10 minutes and limited the score to 9 points per quarter. However, Zalgiris could not at least equalize the score because they mishandled their own shots. Before the big break, the result was 37:35 in favor of Efes. The Turks, who passed the second half with a full advantage, increased the difference in the score and won by 23 points, 87:64.

The most productive player of the match was Svider, who brought 18 points to Efes, while Weiler-Bubb also made 13 assists.

Baskonia hosted Monaco and won a crushing victory.

While the first quarter of the match was tied, the lead changed 7 times and Van Spagnuolo’s finish with 29 seconds left allowed Baskonia to win this ten-minute period. In Vitoria-Gasteiz the home team dominated the field, never allowing Monaco to take the lead over the next three quarters and completely controlling the game, eventually winning by 12 points – 85:73

Luwawu-Cabarrot contributed to Baskonia with 19 points and Forrest with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
