Nine-time Euroleague winner as head coach Zeljko Obradovic officially announced his departure from the Serbian Partizan.
Earlier, the club’s press service reported that Obradovic intended to leave the post of head coach. Partizan suffered nine defeats in 13 matches of the current Euroleague season and ranks 18th in the regular season standings.
“Unfortunately, the moment has come when I must accept responsibility for everything that has gone wrong this season and submit a letter of resignation, which cannot be withdrawn. I would like to thank everyone who has supported our club all these years: the club president and all members of the board of directors, every club employee, as well as all sponsors.
“I am sincerely grateful to all the players who have been with us these four and a half years, the members of my coaching staff (of whom I have said more than once that this is the best team of assistants I have ever had), and also, of course, all the fans,” the Partizan press service quotes 65-year-old Obradovic.
The Serbian specialist has led the Belgrade club since 2021, and previously worked with Partizan in 1991-1993.
